On Sunday 21st October, the Slow in the City Symposium will take place as part of the DublinTown Food & Drink Festival 2018!
Hosted by Slow Food Dublin, who are part of the Slow Food Ireland community, promoting good, clean and fair food in the capital city. Their vision, “Connecting People Through Food” is realised through a calendar of events annually that bring families, friends and business people together via workshops, tutorials, tastings, talks, dinners and their very popular pub quiz, and of course including this year’s symposium.
This series of talks and workshops is happening on Sunday 21st October upstairs in the Stag’s Head, Dame Court and will cover topics such as fermentation, growing in an urban environment, foraging, food waste and Dublin food producers. Family-friendly, this will take place from 1-6pm, and is FREE entry for all.
1pm Kids: Halloween shortbread cookies – The Cupcake Bloke
2pm Kids: Seafood tasting workshop – Niall Sabongi, Klaw
3pm: Food waste talk/demo – Ann Hession from The Endy Bit & Maurice McGeehan
4pm: Fermentation Talk/Tasting – Plentitude
5pm: Talking Heads: A general discussion about Dublin’s thriving restaurant scene, food and trends with some top Irish food writers, restaurateurs and chefs
